Project Volunteers

Imagine the sense of satisfaction and accomplishment that comes from knowing that your hard work and generosity have really made a difference in someone's life. Instead of sitting on a beach with other tourists, more and more people are embracing the concept of the "Volunteer Vacation".

SeaAid is a nonprofit organization devoted to assisting coastal communities worldwide Volunteer vacations allow travelers the opportunity to interact with locals and other volunteers on a much deeper and thus more meaningful level. By working side by side with community members on a SeaAid project you will have the opportunity to truly immerse yourself in the culture, hopes, and dreams of the host community while at the same time helping to improve their lives. This type of hands-on experience fosters the development of cross-cultural understanding and mutual respect. You will quickly find yourself becoming a part of the community as both a teacher and a student, and the friendships, memories, and sense of pride that you leave with will likely stay with you for a lifetime.

SeaAid is a nonprofit organization devoted to assisting coastal communities worldwide Most SeaAid projects take only 2 to 4 weeks to complete, and you would be welcome to participate for as little as one week, or, until the project is completed. When available, volunteers would have the option of living aboard the SeaAid research vessel Taza (as space allows), or as a home-stay guest in the village. Volunteers are responsible for the costs of their travel to and from the SeaAid project site, as well as for your food and accommodation expenses. Some SeaAid projects are fully funded through grants or other sources, other SeaAid projects collect a program fee from our volunteers which pays not only for your room and board, but also funds the project itself. For more information about volunteering for a SeaAid project, please see our Project Volunteer FAQ's.

If you would like to volunteer for one of our projects, please fill out the Project Volunteer form below, or, send an email to volunteers@SeaAid.org. Please include your name, address, phone number and email address, as well as a brief note detailing what skills and experiences you could bring to a SeaAid project. As projects are developed and funded, SeaAid staff will contact you via email or telephone to confirm your interest and availability.
